About our Orthodontist

Dr. Tom Gibson grew up in San Clemente, California. He attended the University of California at Irvine where he graduated early with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He then went on to Northwestern University Dental School where he graduated with honors and entered an advanced training residency in orthodontics. He finished his residency with a Master's degree in oral biology and received his specialty certificate in orthodontics. Dr. Gibson has been devoted full time to the practice of orthodontics for over 20 years.
Dr. Gibson is known as a conscientious and caring orthodontist who works great with both kids and adults. He has practiced with faculty and alumni from the most prestigious dental schools. He is a member of many dental associations including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the California Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Harbor Dental Society.
Dr. Gibson has been married for 20 years and has four school-aged children. Away from the office he keeps busy with his kid's activities.
He is a former motocross racer and an avid mountain biker.

Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. They are removable for eating and drinking, and for key movements.

BRACES

The most common form of braces and widely used today are the brackets that are chemically bonded to each tooth. Brackets come in a few different forms and we can help you choose what is right for you - whether it's metal braces or clear ceramic braces to name a few. The brackets are bonded to each individual tooth and a wire is run through them. This wire is replaced throughout the treatment to a heavier wire to provide greater movement.

Ligatures are then used to keep the wire in place. These ligatures come in a variety of colors and are popular with younger patients since they can have a cool braces treatment using school colors and such.
